If you share our determination to drive the transition to a low-carbon future, then this could be the job for you. We are currently seeking a Sr. Instrument Engineer, reporting directly to the Section Head, to join our Instrumentation and Control System team based in Rome, Italy.
The role and your responsibilities will include:
1. Review client's technical documentation and requirements.
2. Control of subcontracted discipline engineering documents.
3. Define engineering requirements.
4. Support detailed engineering activities (layouts, routings, supports, sizing of CVs).
5. Prepare specifications/datasheets, especially for field instruments, and conduct related technical bid evaluations.
6. Prepare general job and supply specifications for field instruments.
7. Review supplier drawings and vendor project documentation.
8. Provide technical support to the project group.
9. Optimize field instrument selection ensuring minimal cost and simplification, in compliance with performance requirements.
10. Implement instrument detailed design on P&ID's.
11. Manage changes effectively.
12. Communicate and interface with other engineering disciplines.
13. Participate in technical negotiations for instrumentation selection.
14. Perform Factory Acceptance Tests.
15. Work according to company/project standards, procedures, and specifications.
Key interactions for the Instrument Engineer include internal collaboration with civil works, other discipline specialists and engineers, project groups; externally with suppliers and clients.

About You

* Qualification: Automation and/or Mechanical Engineering
* Languages: Fluent in Italian and English
* Knowledge and experience in the oil and gas industry is a plus
* Knowledge and experience with automatic valves for industrial applications (control and on-off valves) is a plus
* Knowledge of European regulations regarding ATEX/SIL guidelines is a plus
* Growth mindset and continuous improvement approach

* Good presentation and communication skills at all organizational levels
* Attention to detail and ability to complete tasks on time with high quality standards
* Ability to work in an international context and willingness for short and long-term abroad missions

* Strong MS Office skills (especially Excel)
* Knowledge of SPI (Smart Plant Instrumentation)
