Avionics Engineer - IVVQ Position at Thales Alenia Space, a joint venture of Thales (67%) and Leonardo (33%). The role involves integration, verification, and validation of satellite avionics – including Data Handling, Attitude and Orbit Control, and Failure Detection Isolation & Recovery aspects. Responsibilities cover the design and execution of real/non‑real time test environments, development of simulation models compliant with ESA ECSS SMP standards, Matlab/Simulink programming, hardware procurement support, and detailed test sequencing. Key Responsibilities Real / Non‑Real Time test environment for Hardware In the Loop (HIL) testing. RTE simulation modeling in C/C++ compliant with ECSS SMP standard. Matlab/Simulink programming. Support to hardware unit specification and procurement technical management. Study and understand design from AOCS/DHC Design Authority to develop verification & testing approach. Develop and write test sequences for AOCS, DHC, FDIR aspects. Avionics V&V activity at Avionic Test Bench (ATB) level. Develop Dynamics Simulation software for ATB and execute functional tests on AVS Units. Special verification facilities requirements specification and procurement technical monitoring. Qualifications Master’s degree in Electrical / Computer / Control Engineering with focus on programming, HIL testing, and control systems. Fluent English (C1 or higher). 2–3 years experience in a similar role. Knowledge of kinematics & dynamics of rigid bodies. Experience with avionic sensors & actuators technology. Experience with real/non‑real time test environments for HIL testing. Proficiency in Matlab/Simulink, C/C++ programming. Knowledge of ESA technical standards (ECSS‑E‑ST‑50‑12C, ECSS‑E‑ST‑50‑52C, ECSS‑E‑ST‑50‑03C, etc.). Experience with 1553, SpaceWire, CAN open, CCSDS/ECSS telemetry & command standards. Understanding of satellite avionics requirements and EGSE, with experience on spacecraft simulators. Skill with laboratory instruments (oscilloscope, multimeter, protocol analyzer). Strong teamwork, autonomy, multitasking, workload management, quality process knowledge. Familiarity with configuration & V&V tools such as DOORS, GIT. Personal Ability Customer‑focused, proactive attitude. Organized, methodical work approach with strong communication skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks autonomously and in team.
