We’re looking for a Financial Controller to lead the accounting operations in Italy. Reporting to the Head of Finance – Italy, with a dotted line to the Regional Financial Controller – Europe, you’ll be at the heart of strategic financial decision-making.
Location: Bergamo, Italy (Hybrid) – with some local travel
Notice Period: 1 Month or less - this role is needing to be filled asap
Oversee and ensure the accuracy of financial reporting, general ledger, and monthly reconciliations.
Lead the end-to-end accounts payable, receivable, and invoicing functions.
Implement a best-in-class billing and collection process, managing stakeholder relationships with professionalism and tact.
Monitor and control debtor levels, liaising directly with parents and clients for timely collections.
Lead the internal controls environment, ensuring full compliance with regulatory and tax requirements.
Manage local cash flow, banking relationships, audits, and tax matters.
Collaborate with HR on payroll posting and reconciliation.
Champion the effective use of finance systems – training users and optimising performance.
Several years of finance and accounting experience in a fast-paced commercial environment.
Deep technical accounting knowledge, with strong IFRS and Italian GAAP experience.
Fluent in Italian and English (written and verbal).
Resilient, flexible, and able to manage shifting priorities with ease.
Advanced Excel and strong systems/ERP knowledge (implementation experience a plus).
