Overview
As a Therapeutic Strategy Lead, you will develop and implement effective delivery strategies tailored to customer needs during the RFP/Bid Defense cycle. You’ll bridge the gap between sales, medical, and operational teams to ensure seamless project execution and support sales teams throughout the Business Development process.
Responsibilities
- Actively collaborate with Sales, Medical, Operations, and other functions to provide guidance and ensure tailor‑made strategies for projects or programs that differentiate IQVIA from the competition.
- Scan the therapeutic and operational landscape and consider wider impacts to develop long‑term implementation strategies that maximize value.
- Maintain an understanding of current and future market trends that may impact innovative operational delivery strategies.
- Act as champion for project centricity, enabling the project delivery team to understand and implement the strategy sold.
- Drive the team to leverage all available data, balancing external research with IQVIA’s internal data sources.
- Guide and mentor assigned Project Leaders so they can confidently present the strategy to the client and internal stakeholders.
- Support Sales in preparing and conducting customer and bid defense meetings, including training and preparation of the project team.
- Attend, present, and lead bid defense or customer meetings as required.
- Identify quality issues within the study and coach on resolution, including corrective and preventative actions and escalation.
- Ensure project/program budgets meet financial and company goals, including Gross New Business.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Deep, current knowledge of the scientific, clinical operations, real‑world, regulatory, operational, commercial and competitive landscape in the applicable therapeutic area.
- Strong global knowledge of the biopharma industry, drug development lifecycle and operational clinical trial delivery.
- In‑depth knowledge of applicable clinical research regulatory requirements (e.g., Good Clinical Practice and International Conference on Harmonization guidelines).
- Business acumen, confidence with financial considerations, and excellent negotiation and influencing skills.
- Strong customer management skills and the ability to understand customer needs, have difficult conversations with stakeholders and negotiate solutions.
- Strong leadership skills; ability to lead a virtual team in a matrix organization.
- Strategic thinking to realize organizational and project goals, developing positive visions for successful delivery.
- Strong presentation skills and excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication (English).
- Strong software and computer skills, including MS Office.
- Must have prior experience in the Clinical Research Organization (CRO) industry.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in life sciences.
- Relevant global clinical research experience at director level, including hands‑on operational delivery and/or drug development experience in the applicable therapeutic area (Internal Medicine/Immunology).
Compensation
The potential base pay range for this role, when annualized, is €83,100.00 – €141,500.00. Additional incentive plans, bonuses, and other benefits may be offered.
