Overview The Director of Finance provides strategic leadership, functional guidance, and valuable insights to the General Manager, Partner, Executive Committee, and Department Heads for optimal business decision‑making. The role interacts with legal counsel, insurance companies, tax consultants, auditors, commercial and government banks to control the assets of the business and support the management team through financial analytics, capital projects, operational finance, procurement, and planning. Responsibilities Use financial analysis data, trends, and market information to anticipate needs, identify operating and financial issues, and recommend actions to maximize financial return. Create the annual operating budget and provide analytical support during budget reviews to identify cost‑saving and productivity opportunities for department heads. Analyse ROI for capital projects prior to committing funds and determine if anticipated results were achieved. Maximize cash flow performance through controls on inventory, credit, collection, disbursements, deposits, and remittances. Manage day‑to‑day activities, plan and assign work, establish performance and development goals for finance and accounting team members; provide mentoring, coaching, and regular feedback. Educate, train, and motivate finance and accounting teams to achieve hotel revenue goals and ensure employees have the information, market data, tools, and equipment to carry out job duties.
