AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that keep our customers’ applications running. As part of the global controls team, you will troubleshoot, manage projects, and maintain the building management system (BMS) and electrical power monitoring system (EPMS). You will develop new processes and standards while innovating in the controls space.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and perform root‑cause analysis or corrective action for BMS and EPMS related issues in AWS data centers.
- Train and assist internal customers and stakeholders with the creation, design, configuration, validation, installation, commissioning and operation of BMS and EPMS systems.
- Provide technical assistance and support to operations during the life cycle of the data center.
- Review results and action items from the quarterly maintenance of BMS and EPMS and take action to resolve them.
- Develop BMS & EPMS project scope of work, schedule, budget, and level of effort (LOE) for customer and stakeholder requests.
- Manage scope, schedule, finance and execution of BMS and EPMS improvement projects in AWS data centers.
- Assist in procurement activities including RFQs/proposals, responses to RIFs, vendor proposal review, and issuance of purchase orders.
- Participate in AWS global on‑call schedule to provide immediate BMS and EPMS technical support to in‑service data centers.
- Attend project‑related meetings, coordinate with project leaders and report status to Controls and stakeholder management.
- Support Controls projects related commissioning activities in data centers.
- Review, implement, troubleshoot and iterate on the controls sequence of operation (SOO) and provide feedback to the design team.
- Develop and modify controls logic programming and graphical user interfaces.
- Manage multiple stakeholder deliverables and navigate challenging situations.
- Financially manage BMS and EPMS service contracts.
- Frequently visit assigned data centers to troubleshoot, meet customers, and supervise vendor work to ensure compliance with scope, design, SOO and applicable local codes.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience carrying new design concepts through exploration, development, and into deployment or mass production.
- Experience with MS Excel, Word, and Windows operating systems.
- Experience with power management and power monitoring systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of project management in data centers or comparable critical infrastructure experience.
- Knowledge of critical data center equipment, engineering documentation, electrical diagrams, and standard operating procedures.
- Knowledge of building codes and regulations including Life Safety, BOCA, NFPA, NEC, or OSHA.
- Experience reading and interpreting construction specifications and drawings for all domains.
- Experience in Data Center Engineering Operations with a deep understanding of electrical and mechanical infrastructure.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $98,700 per year in the lowest market to $210,800 per year in the highest market, plus potential equity, sign‑on payments, and other benefits.
