PURPOSE OF THE JOB
* Perform activities, under the governance/guidance of the Program Safety Assurance Manager (PSAM), related to safety assurance in Projects and Programs. Activities can involve Project, System, Software, Hardware domains.
* Deliver safe solutions (Program and Projects).
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
* Coordinate all Safety Assurance activities on the project/system/product as per Safety process defined in Signalling Safety Instruction.
* Perform Safety analysis, manage Hazard Log, review V&V, T&C activities from a Safety perspective.
* Define safety plan and manage safety workload and planning.
* Support tenders and/or RC teams to integrate product/system into projects.
* Build Safety Reports and/or Safety Cases.
* Apply safety assurance methodologies (risk acceptance criteria, safety analysis, verification, and validation) defined for the project/system/product.
* Organize and attend periodic Safety Reviews.
* Defend Safety Case argumentations in front of internal (QS, Safety Assessor) and external (ISA) assessors; define and follow-up action plans to close findings.
* Manage Safety Assurance Engineers involved in the project/system/product (internal or external resources).
* If identified as Safety Leader for a Safety Issue, manage 8D steps as per process.
* Support actions to close findings of assessors (internal or external).
ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
* Mastering CENELEC Standards for Safety (or equivalent standards such as AREMA, IEEE) and safety methodologies & concepts/principles.
* Mandatory:
o Educational Requirements: University Degree in Electronics/Telecommunications/Software Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent.
* Mandatory:
o Italian language proficiency
o Fluent English
* Mandatory:
o Can be a beginner in safety but, depending on the domain, specific experience is required in system, data preparation, hardware, or software domains.
* Team player

* Rigorous and detail-oriented
* Strong work ethic and task focus. Ability to say “no go” when needed and support/elaborate improvement plans to deliver projects.
