This global leader is searching for a well-rounded Engineering Director with the prospects to become the local MD within 1-2 years.

About The Role
As the most senior technical professional on the site, you will be responsible for:
* Analysing the current engineering and production function to understand areas for improvement.
* Driving a culture change within the site. (siloed to collaborative)
* Occasional travel within Italy or to my clients European HQ.
* Strategic and operational management of all engineering activities across design, development and integration.
* Managing a team of up to 30 staff (direct and indirect) across engineering and production which includes mechanical assembly, electrical assembly, automation and software.
* Building a team of driven and capable engineers and leaders.
* Being the technical interface with key partners.
* Supporting the setting of the annual budget and goals.
* Introducing new SOPs to help streamline and standardise current processes.
* Ensuring the business achieves its commitment to customers in relation to quality and delivery timescales.
* Working with the assembly function to improve efficiency and output.
* Providing technical input and support for the sales team when needed.
About You
The successful leader will be strategic, but also comfortable operating in a hands-on role with proven success leading an engineering & production/assembly team.
Experience gained as an engineer prior to your leadership career would be highly advantageous, as would an engineering education.
It's essential you possess a mix of technical knowledge and commercial understanding gained in the factory / industrial automation sector, coupled with the ability to impact and drive a culture change in a business.
You must speak advanced-level Italian and English and have the rights to work in Italy. Please note: Sponsorship is not available for this role.
