With over 60,000 employees worldwide, the company has a strong industrial presence in Italy, the United Kingdom, Poland, the United States, and operates in 150 countries also through subsidiaries, joint ventures and shareholdings.A protagonist in major global strategic programs, it is a technological and industrial partner of Governments, Defense Administrations, Institutions and companies.Within the activities of the Quantum Technologies, Optronics & Materials Laboratories group, we are looking for a Researcher in the field of optical materials and integrated photonic circuit characterization, for our office in Campi Bisenzio (FI).## The person will be responsible for the following activities:- Experimental activities on materials, electro-optical and photonic devices, including: * Assembly, alignment and validation of optical systems and experimental demonstrators, including the definition of optical benches and the selection of commercial optical elements. * Optical, electrical and RF characterization of photonic materials and devices (integrated photonic circuits, metasurfaces, optical coatings). * Development of electronic and RF interfaces for testing and controlling photonic devices. * Prototyping of systems and experimental validation of photonic technologies. * Data analysis and report writing.## Education:Master's degree in Physics, Engineering Physics, Materials Science and Technology or related disciplines. A PhD is considered a plus.**Seniority:**Expert (3 - 5 years of experience).## Technical skills* Experience with optical and RF laboratory instrumentation, including Vector Network Analyzer (VNA), Oscilloscope, FTIR Spectrometer, Optical Spectrum Analyzers, Power meter, Signal Generators for device characterization; * Practical experience with optical bench experiments, including optical alignment, free-space optics, fiber coupling, use of precision positioning stages and opto-mechanical components; * Experience in experimental characterization of optical materials and photonic devices, including transmission, loss and spectrum measurements for integrated photonics and optical coatings; * Practical experience with electronic and RF interfaces for photonic devices, electrical driving and integration with laboratory instrumentation; * Ability to use scientific programming tools (such as Python or MATLAB) for measurement automation, analysis, processing and data visualization; * Experience with optical fiber manipulation, sample preparation and experimental problem solving in photonics and optoelectronics laboratories; * Experience in nanofabrication of photonic components in a cleanroom is a plus.## Soft Skills:* Team Working skills; * Problem solving and dynamism.* Reporting and communication skills.## Language skills; * Good knowledge of written and spoken English (B2 level).## Other* Willingness to travel temporarily to other laboratories for collaboration activities and cross-functional projects.**Seniority:**Esperto**Primary Location:**IT - Firenze - Campi Bisenzio**Contract Type:**Permanent**Hybrid Working:**Ibrido
