Job Overview
Data Center Engineering Technician, DCEO at Amazon Web Services (AWS). The position focuses on operating and maintaining the electrical and mechanical infrastructure of AWS Data Centers across the cloud regions. The role emphasizes facility operations, safety procedures, and ensuring customer uptime.
Key Responsibilities
Safety
Follow and maintain the highest safety standards, encourage a world‑class safety culture, remediate safety risks in coordination with other teams, and own safety initiatives and projects.
Engineering & Facility Operations and Maintenance
* Operational experience with electrical and mechanical equipment such as UPS, switchgear, circuit breakers, ATS, diesel generators, chillers, HVAC, exhaust fans, VFDs, and transformers.
* Troubleshoot events within internal Service Level Agreements.
* Take daily operational readings of all mechanical and electrical equipment through routine rounds, logging temperatures, voltages, and currents.
* Supervise contractors performing servicing or preventive maintenance.
* Manual handling and lifting of equipment may be required (weight limits in accordance with health & safety regulations).
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
* Professional or formal Electrical Certification or apprentice/trades certification or diploma in an electrical field.
* Demonstrated key electrical competencies (practice & theory) and knowledge of mechanical systems (HVAC, controls).
* Very good command of English.
Preferred Qualifications
* Data Center/mission critical engineering experience.
* Willingness to travel between data center sites and internationally if required.
* Valid driving license in Italy.
