Overview
R&D Project Manager - Instrument Transformers at Hitachi Energy. Lead the development of next-generation oil- and gas-insulated instrument transformers and drive projects from concept to market in the High Voltage Products unit.

What you will do
* Lead product development for oil- and gas-insulated instrument transformers from concept to market, ensuring cost, quality, and time-to-market goals.
* Propose R&D projects aligned with the Instrument Transformers Technology Roadmap and explore portfolio extension opportunities with the Global Product Manager, Global Technology Manager, and Local Operating Units.
* Coordinate cross-functional teams and define R&D resource needs (competence footprint, infrastructure) with the Global Technology Manager.
* Contribute to the global product footprint strategy for gas- and oil-insulated transformers, including factory allocation.
* Plan and supervise R&D project execution in line with the Technology Roadmap, ensuring compliance and managing technical risks.
* Oversee design validation and type testing to ensure product reliability.
* Communicate project progress to stakeholders and document lessons learned for future initiatives.
Your background
* Master’s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering (or related field)
* 5+ years of experience in project management or leadership roles, ideally in the high-voltage or electromechanical industry
* Experience with oil- or gas-insulated high-voltage products, especially instrument transformers is a strong plus
* Familiarity with structured product development processes and tools (e.g., CAD, FEM, PLM, ERP)
* Operational expertise in coordinating new product implementation and transferring production between factories is a plus
* Strong communication and leadership skills
* Fluent in English; Italian or Polish a plus
