In this role you will own the delivery and continuous improvement of Software Factory capabilities that enable the software lifecycle across the GCAP programme. You will align with the Product Owner to define architectures, toolchains, and environments for secure, traceable software development and testing. The position focuses on scalable digital thread enablement, evidence generation for certification, and interoperability across partner toolsets. You will drive roadmaps, governance, and cross‑partner collaboration to deliver timely, compliant software factory services. - Own delivery and continuous improvement of Software Factory products and services (toolchains, environments, digital thread)
- Translate business/engineering needs into roadmaps, plans, and backlogs for Software Factory capabilities
- Advise on architecture, environment design, and digital thread enablement across engineering teams
- Define technical baselines and reference architectures for software factory solutions
- Ensure integration and traceability from system-level to software artefacts; maintain end-to-end assurance
- Coordinate with internal teams and suppliers, manage handoffs within Software Factory scope
- Monitor service performance, capacity, risks, and technical debt; drive continuous service improvement
- Manage vendor engagement, evaluations, and toolchain interoperability across partners
- Drive security, access controls, and training pipelines to enable engineers to operate the Software Factory
- Balance short‑term delivery with long‑term architectural strategy and scalability across distributed teams
Responsabilità
- Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline
- Service Management certification (e.g., ITIL) or equivalent
- Project or Programme Management certification (e.g., APM, Prince2) or demonstrable delivery xlwpduy experience
- 10+ years in software engineering toolchains, DevSecOps, lifecycle environments, and digital thread enablement
- Experience in Model Based Software Design
- 10+ years in Aerospace/Defence market segments with understanding of DO-178C and certification evidence
- Knowledge of Digital Engineering, model-based engineering, and environment provisioning
- Proven ability to manage multi‑partner and supplier integration
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Financial/resource management for software engineering capabilities
- Security clearance or eligibility for defence programme clearance
