This position is based at the Ebara Elliott Energy Service Center in La Spezia, Italy. The facility provides aftermarket support, performing service, repair, overhaul, and re-rate of complex rotating equipment to ensure reliability and long life for customer assets across Europe and beyond. The Workshop Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring that all products undergoing service, repair, and overhaul in the La Spezia workshop meet quality standards, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications.ResponsibilitiesQuality Planning and Documentation: Assist in developing and executing Quality Plans and component-specific inspection plans; draft, review, and assemble QA MDRs; prepare and maintain Quality documentation for serviced products and projects; develop and implement Quality Control Work Instructions (WCIs) for workshop processes and inspections.Inspection, Testing, and Compliance: Perform visual, dimensional, and functional inspections and testing per documented policies; conduct incoming material inspections, in-process inspections during tear-down, repair, and assembly, final product inspections and acceptance testing; support supplier and sub-supplier inspections as required; serve as primary Quality support during critical ITs and customer witness points; ensure calibration and maintenance of all inspection and test equipment; maintain accurate inspection and test data with traceability.Non-Conformance and Continuous Improvement: Review Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and coordinate with relevant teams to manage deviations; support Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for quality issues observed during service and repair; assist with Corrective and Preventative Action (CAPA) implementation; contribute to quality improvement plans to enhance service efficiency and product reliability.Internal and External Coordination: Coordinate quality requirements and documentation with internal departments (e.g., Engineering, Production, Supply Chain); manage communication with suppliers, sub-suppliers, and customers to ensure adherence to specifications.QualificationsMaster's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant technical field is required.Experience in manufacturing, service, or repair environments, preferably within turbomachinery, oil & gas, or power generation sectors.Knowledge of industry standards and quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001).Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, schematics, and GD&T.Commitment to developing professional quality engineering skills through continuous learning and practical application.Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Italian and English (highly desirable for coordination with local teams and global functions).Base Location & Work ScheduleThis is a full-time permanent office-based position in La Spezia, Italy.The world turns to Elliott.
