The Job
As an EHS Officer (ASPP), they are responsible for carrying out activities necessary to ensure the site’s compliance with mandatory and/or voluntary environmental and safety regulations. Their role is to minimize risks related to hygiene, health, and safety of workers, as well as to reduce the environmental impact of company activities, always under the coordination and guidance of the EHS Manager (RSPP) and the Employer. They are also involved in implementing procedures with a view to continuous improvement.
As an EHS Specialist, they carry out all activities required to obtain and maintain certifications and necessary compliance authorizations related to environment and safety (e.g., Legislative Decree 81/08), in collaboration with the EHS Manager and following guidelines provided by Corporate.
They coordinate with the Occupational Health Physician in accordance with Legislative Decree 81/08 for the identification of risk assessments related to job tasks and for the definition of an appropriate health surveillance protocol.
Based on the analysis of specific risks associated with activities/substances (for which they have collaborated with the EHS Manager), they coordinate with internal company functions within SBD (both production and administrative) to help define specific risk minimization programs.
They propose and implement improvement actions related to accident prevention and corrective actions for workstations to minimize risk. They ensure these actions are implemented and report their status to the EHS Manager.
They collaborate with the EHS Manager (and HR) to organize staff training related to risks, prevention programs, and environmental and safety procedures. In coordination with HR, and based on local legislation (with possible support from the EHS Manager), they adapt Corporate policies and company communications regarding EHS.
They report EHS performance results of the site to Corporate. Together with other company functions, they organize for possible EHS audits, both internal and those conducted by competent authorities, certification bodies, and companies appointed by Corporate.
Together with HR and supervisors, they carry out internal inspections to verify staff compliance with internal health and safety regulations.
They are responsible for ensuring their own behavior is in line with the Company’s Social Responsibility principles and, in case of any non-compliance, apply the measures indicated in the relevant Policy.
They comply with environmental and safety regulations, both those prescribed by Italian law (in particular, articles 19-20 of the Consolidated Law) and those set out in internal procedures.
The EHS Officer, with the support of the EHS Manager, adapts Corporate policies according to the requirements of the Employer, Italian legislation, and GDPR (in consultation with the internal privacy officer and the HR function).
