Overview
We’re looking for an In-Vehicle Networking (IVN) Engineer to support the in-house software development of vehicle systems, for a major OEM. You’ll work in a highly innovative and dynamic environment, leading activities around SOME/IP and CAN FD communication design, requirements release, message mapping, and network performance optimization. The role involves close collaboration with vehicle teams, core electrical and systems engineering groups, and suppliers. Note:

and other specific protocol design elements are included in responsibilities where applicable. Responsibilities
Lead and support execution of in-vehicle networking activities Drive Ethernet message map creation with internal stakeholders and third parties Package software interfaces into Ethernet and/or CAN FD messages and services Collaborate with software development teams to optimize the Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) for communication performance Define and optimize SOME/IP and CAN FD communication quality of service (Ethernet switch configuration, VLAN, priorities, traffic shaping) Design CAN FD messages (priorities, offsets) to minimize end-to-end latencies Optimize gateway functionality to minimize processing delays between SOME/IP interfaces and CAN FD signals Support SOME/IP communication layer modeling in PREEVision Define DoIP Ethernet messages Design AUTOSAR Time Sync domain and optimize configuration parameters Collaborate cross-functionally with product and systems teams Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Applied Physics, Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Computer Engineering/Science, or related field (or equivalent experience) 3+ years of networking experience 2+ years of experience with automotive Ethernet / SOME/IP Strong knowledge of CAN, CAN FD, Automotive Ethernet, SOME/IP, and gPTP protocols Experience authoring system/component-level requirements Excellent problem-solving, autonomy, and communication skills Proven ability to work in a fast-evolving environment with complex requirements Desired skills
Experience with IBM DOORS or similar RM tools Hands-on with CANalyzer / CANoe Familiarity with PREEVision Knowledge of AUTOSAR software architecture and Time Sync Next steps
