WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
For our Iveco Defence Vehicles and Astra business units, we are looking for a Quality Technician for the Engine and Powertrain Test Room who will be responsible for supervising the functional tests of engines and powerpacks, monitoring functional and performance tests on internal combustion engines in accordance with the technical specifications provided by the engine or powerpack specifications. The person must interface with the relevant company functions to ensure that the test is carried out appropriately and safely. The Quality Technician will be responsible for reporting issues that arise during the tests, tracking them in the appropriate company IT systems, and interfacing with Quality and Production colleagues to resolve them. Additionally, will create operational instructions based on various root cause definitions and ensure their implementation
Main Responsibilities:
* Verify that engines or powerpacks are correctly connected to the test bench and that safety standards are respected.
* Ensure that test parameters are consistent with the expected test cycles (emissions, consumption, durability, power, etc.).
* Monitor operational parameters during tests using data acquisition software.
* Identify and report any anomalies or malfunctions.
* Certify technical reports and test documentation.
* Collaborate with engineers and other technicians to analyze results and solve problems.
Requirements:
Education:
* Technical diploma (mechanical, mechatronic, electronic) or degree, short degree in a technical field.
Technical Skills:
* Knowledge of the operation of internal combustion engines, powerpacks, and cooling systems.
* Experience with engine test benches and measuring instruments (pressure, temperature, flow sensors, etc.).
* Ability to use data acquisition and control software (e.g., PUMA, INCA, LabVIEW, etc.).
* Reading technical drawings and electrical/fluidic diagrams.
Soft Skills:
* Attention to detail and precision.
* Ability to work in a team.
* Problem-solving skills.
* Flexibility in working hours.
* Availability to work in shifts.
* Knowledge of basic IT packages (Matrix or similar, Office, PLM, SAP, etc.).
Optional Plus:
* Previous experience in certified environments (ISO 17025, ISO 9001).
* Knowledge of technical English.
* Forklift or overhead crane license.
