Role Description This is a full-time hybrid role for an Optical Designer to join Lobre's Optical Design team. The Optical Designer will be responsible for designing optical systems, defining quality control procedures, verifying optical performance of custom systems and manage development projects both for national and international customers. The ideal candidate will have strong creative skills and a portfolio of work which demonstrates their passion for optical design and optomechanics. This candidate will have experiences in working with Zemax and similar Optical Design Software. It will be a plus if the candidate has also hands-on experience with SolidWorks. The majority of work will be carried out on-site in Carpenedolo, with quite some flexibility also for remote work. You will: Collaborate with the team to ensure good optical design for various types of optical systems, both for vision applications and for projection optics. Coordinate full system development and opto-mechanical design of optical solutions for our customers. Maintain awareness of current industry and technology standards, social media, competitive landscape and market trends. Qualifications Bachelor's degree or Master Degree/PhD in Physics, optical engineering, aeronautical engineering, astronomical engineering or related fields. 2-4 years of experience in optical design using Zemax and/or Code5. Proficient in English and preferably in Italian. Strong communication, conceptual thinking, optical skills and design skills. Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
