PThe Deputy Director of Finance manages the day-to-day operations of the accounting department. Primary responsibilities include financial analysis and reporting, budgeting/forecasting, audit and control, reconciliation of assets and liabilities, working capital, and liquidity management. /ppbCANDIDATE PROFILE /b /ppPrevious experience in Marriott, familiarity with its administrative procedures and software systems, is required. Pre-opening experience is preferred. /ppbEducation and Experience /b /pulli4-year bachelor's degree in Finance and Accounting or related field; 2-3 years of relevant experience at Marriott. /li /ulpbMAIN WORK ACTIVITIES /b /ppbAssisting in managing the accounting team /b /pulliUtilize interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence, and motivate team members; support sound financial and business decision-making; demonstrate honesty and integrity; set an example. /liliOversee internal, external, and regulatory audit processes. /liliMaintain regular communication with employees to promote awareness of company goals, communicate expectations, and recognize performance. /liliAcknowledge team successes publicly. /liliEstablish and maintain open, collaborative relationships within the team. /liliProvide strong leadership by recognizing top performers, fostering teamwork, and encouraging work-life balance. /liliParticipate in employee performance appraisals and provide constructive feedback. /liliEnsure disciplinary procedures and documentation are completed per SOPs and LSOPs and support peer reviews. /liliAdminister real estate policies fairly and consistently. /liliSolicit employee feedback to improve team dynamics. /li /ulpbProject and Policy Management /b /pulliGenerate and deliver accurate, timely reports and presentations. /liliAnalyze information and evaluate results to determine optimal solutions. /liliCompile, categorize, verify, and check data for accuracy. /liliEnsure income statements are accurate, costs are properly matched with revenues, and statements are delivered promptly. /liliReconcile PL and balance sheet accounts, supporting balances with proper documentation in accordance with SOPs. /liliEnsure compliance with SOPs and LSOPs. /liliReview audit issues and implement necessary corrections. /liliEnsure ownership permits, licenses, and supplier contracts are current and in place. /liliLeverage centralized processes and shared services for efficiency. /li /ulpOversee audit processes and ensure compliance with SOPs, producing accurate financial reports to support decision-making. Ensure tax rates for sales/use tax are current and that transactions are documented properly. /ppbAccounting Knowledge and Application /b /pulliDemonstrate understanding of relevant problems, products, systems, and processes. /liliStay updated with technical developments and apply new knowledge. /liliUse computers and systems effectively for data entry, processing, and reporting. /liliAssess compliance with laws, regulations, and standards using judgment and information analysis. /liliUtilize technology and information systems to generate reports and support managerial decisions. /li /ulpbProviding Financial Guidance /b /pulliUpdate managers and colleagues on relevant financial information promptly. /liliParticipate in review meetings with management. /liliAdvise the Director of Finance on operational and financial issues. /liliCommunicate financial concepts clearly and persuasively to guide behaviors. /liliAssist other units with accounting, budgeting, control, and resource management policies. /liliProvide information via phone, email, or in person as needed. /li /ulpbMaintaining Financial and Accounting Goals /b /pulliSubmit reports on time, ensuring accuracy and completeness. /liliDocument profits and losses accurately. /liliAchieve and surpass performance, budget, and team goals. /liliSet specific goals and organize work to meet priorities. /liliMonitor taxes to ensure compliance and proper collection or accrual. /liliSupport a strong control environment to safeguard assets, improve operations, and manage risks. /li /ulpW Hotels’ mission is to Ignite Curiosity, Expand Worlds.
