Cybersecurity Researcher
The selected candidate will join the Embedded System Warfare Research team and will focus on cybersecurity research for Embedded/IoT devices. They will also be responsible for developing Proofs of Concept (PoC) for the work performed and documenting all activities.
How your contribution will make a difference — key tasks and responsibilities:
1. Perform system analysis to understand the structure, functionality, and behavior of the system
2. Conduct source code review to identify security flaws and system vulnerabilities
3. Simulate real-world hacker attacks to uncover exploitable vulnerabilities (Penetration Testing)
4. Create patches by writing code to correct identified vulnerabilities. This may include fixing logic errors, removing vulnerable code, or adding new security features
5. Test patches to ensure they work properly and do not introduce new vulnerabilities or stability issues
6. Conduct post-patch monitoring to ensure no residual problems remain and that the vulnerability has been fully mitigated
Profile of the person who will join the Experis Team:
7. Master's degree in Electronic Engineering or Computer Engineering
8. PhD or Level II Master's degree in Cyber Security
9. Knowledge of reverse engineering (X86/ARM architectures)
10. Low-level debugging in ASM (assembly) / C on embedded devices
11. Professional experience with embedded radio devices (LTE, WiFi, LoRa)
12. Python programming
13. Familiarity with Linux OS environments
14. Experience using laboratory equipment (oscilloscope, logic analyzer)
15. Experience with hardware reverse engineering tools (JTAG, BusPirate, Chipwhisperer)
16. Relevant certifications: ACIP, GREM, ICRE
17. Excellent command of the English language
Additionally, the ideal candidate will have:
18. Ability to work collaboratively in a research and development environment
19. Ability to document research activities
