Webasto Thermo & Comfort Italy Srl, a multinational company specialized in the design, production and distribution of air conditioning and refrigeration systems for vehicles, is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to be included in R&D
Principali Attività ed Obiettivi:
1. Mechanical Design Engineering and Mechanical System Integration Engineering of HVAC and Refrigeration products
2. Definition/design of mechanical components of the product, as well as verification, approval and release of drawings
3. Calculation of sizing / verification (FEM analysis)
4. Responsible for the creation, updating and maintaining of the drawings archive for components
5. Supporting the strategy of the reuse of components (VPM – Virtual Product Management)
6. Responsible for the creation, updating and maintaining of the Design guidelines
7. Manage the layout of projects, components and systems
8. Definition and issuing of specifications / test procedures for type tests of series and for FAI
9. Develop 3D solid and surface models
10. Generation of 2D build drawings
11. Collaboration and interaction with the business areas involved in the project development (Quality, Manufacturing, Procurement, Testing, Production)
12. Interface with suppliers to define the mechanical requirements of components
Skills:
13. Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical of Thermodynamic preferred) and a minimum of 5 years work experience in a similar role
14. Detailed understanding of HVAC system functions including refrigeration, thermodynamics, heat transfer, airflow and ventilation
15. Good understanding of the application of computer simulation tools and theory to HVAC system design
16. Expert CAD knowledge (preferably CATIA)
17. Expert knowledge of engineering materials
18. Knowledge of manufacturing processes in thermoforming, plastic injection molding and metal processing
19. Ability to carry out static and dynamic mechanical analysis of complex systems
20. Fluency in English
21. Organizational skills and ability to work independently
