Board Advisors provide an excellent solution for ambitious businesses looking for growth, profitability, and stability. Increasing numbers of senior-level professionals are turning to portfolio careers seeking more control over their lives and freedom from large corporate environments. Expansion Our aim is to continue increasing our market penetration worldwide, and therefore we seek ambitious individuals capable of growing with us as Master Licensees in different countries. Our Business We operate within the ScaleUp marketplace, servicing companies with between 10 and 1000 staff and likely $2m to $100m turnover, although we do mentor smaller businesses as well. We work directly with business owners as part of the Board team on a long-term basis, collaborating with VCs, PEs, Funds, and family businesses. Typically, this involves working within each business for 1-10 days a month. Our approach emphasizes providing high-quality Board Advisor skills with a focus on strategic and commercial expertise, proactively engaging with business owners to deliver value. We are sector-agnostic, offering Director-level skills in finance, marketing, sales, IT, HR, and management. We also supply Non-Executive Directors, Chairs, Mentors, and Coaches. Who Joins Boardroom Advisors Our Advisors are experienced professionals who have scaled businesses, served as Managing Directors or CEOs, and derive satisfaction from our clients' success. Requirements to Join To join, candidates must: Share our values of transparency, energy, and teamwork, reflecting our culture. Demonstrate strong empathy for entrepreneurs, VCs, PEs, fund portfolio companies, and family businesses, with a long-term customer service focus. Have the financial ability to fund themselves outside of the role, understanding that building a Regional Director and Advisor business may take months before earning income. Be energetic and committed to actively participating in business development and lead generation. Master Licensee Arrangement Master Licensees have exclusive territorial rights to our brand, website, case studies, business model, and systems for several years. We provide initial training and ongoing support, starting with weekly meetings, transitioning to monthly strategic meetings, with a focus on long-term success. In return, we require a small initial fee, a 10% royalty, and a 10% shareholding in the licensee company to ensure commitment. Service Delivery After an initial meeting, the Regional Director introduces the appropriate Advisor to the business owner, clarifies objectives, and agrees on engagement terms—whether a set number of days or ongoing projects. Each business has a lead Advisor and a Regional Director to foster stronger relationships and loyalty. Types of Work Our engagements cover all aspects of a Board Advisor's role, aiming for long-term involvement and regular income rather than project-based work. Typical activities include performance reviews, funding analysis, outsourcing, growth planning, staffing analysis, and salary reviews.
