Hauptaufgaben
Incumbent serves as Foreman over the POV Inspection Section that includes installation, repair, overhaul, maintenance and servicing of heavy-duty equipment to include maintenance of gasoline, diesel and electrical powered commercial equipment. Incumbent plans weekly or monthly work schedules and sequence of operations for subordinates using systems. Also operates and consults IMMS to research data regarding Base Operators equipment. Establishes deadline and priorities on the basis of general work schedules, methods and policies (reviewing ETMS Library) established by higher levels of supervision. Adjust plans, assignments and methods as necessary to accomplish the work as effectively and economically as feasible. Determines equipment, supplies, and maintenance required. Assures arrival of supplies and equipment at work site as needed. He/she performs initial, in progress and final inspections of gasoline, diesel, and electrical powered commercial designed material handling equipment, electrical appliances, air compressors, bicycles, pumping units and power generation equipment. Inspects incoming equipment to determine necessary repairs by listening, operational testing and performing various diagnostic tests using compression gages vacuum gages, electronic engine analyzers, multi-meters etc. Prepares documents for required repairs and including estimated time, repair parts needed and costs. Performs final acceptance inspection by making road or other operation tests. Verifies need for additional repairs or parts and determine additional cost involved. Maintains production reports and records. Classifies Material Handling Equipment, electrical appliances, air compressors, and bicycles, pumping units and power generation equipment by condition code. Recommends repair or removal to DRMO/DLA Disposition Services if the equipment is not economically repairable. Estimates costs to repair damage to equipment. Determines if damage was due to fair wear and tear. Recommends Controlled Exchange/Substitution to obtain repair parts. Performs scheduled and emergency brake tests using specific systems and its software. Incumbent operates a forklift.
NOTE: Tour of duty is 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday from 8.00 to 17.00, including a 1-hour uncompensated lunch break.

1. ABILITY TO LEAD OR SUPERVISE;
2. KNOWLEDGE OF EQUIPMENT ASSEMBLY, INSTALLATION, REPAIR, ETC.;
3. TECHNICAL PRACTICES (THEORETICAL, PRECISE, ARTISTIC);
4. USE OF MEASURING INSTRUMENTS;
5. ABILITY TO INTERPRET INSTRUCTIONS, SPECIFICATIONS, ETC. (INCLUDES BLUEPRINTING
READING);
6. ABILITY TO USE AND MAINTAIN TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT;
7. TROUBLE SHOOTING.
NOTE: Basic knowledge of the English language is desirable.
