The Manufacturing Engineer Packaging manages multiple projects with varying scopes, timelines and capital expenditures, and must ensure projected asset utilization and operating efficiency as well as safe operation by plant Technicians or Operators. The primary accountabilities of the role include project viability, project schedule adherence, project continuous improvement (UPDT, CML, Changeovers), project cost containment, providing training, and EHS and corporate Quality standards compliance._ _The Manufacturing Engineer will build relationships with S&T, Production, Maintenance, Quality and EHS departments, as well as outside contractors and suppliers to ensure the business and technical objectives of the projects are satisfied. Manufacturing Engineers are responsible for the coordination and oversight of contractors, maintenance personnel, vendor technicians etc and the training concerning the operation of machines, processes and working methods._ Essential Job functions: Develops and implements new production systems, processes and work methods. Develops, organizes and implements AM activities and monitors progress Develops plans and timetables for task completion using appropriate project management tools. Issues regular progress reports. Monitors project progress, modify plans and initiates corrective actions based on feedback and changes. Develops project contingency plans as necessary. Delivers projects within required time frames and budget Purchases the required means within fixed and approved budget Empowers subordinates by way of training, information sharing, coaching, feedback, appraisals and delegation, to ensure the development of people, teams and organizational capabilities Supports the Production Team in solving problems of the production process Provides training concerning the operation of machines and follow up of working methods Ensures compliance with appropriate Colgate standards and local regulations including EHS and Quality standards. Provides input and applies appropriate standards and codes in project design and installations. Ensures project teams (Hill's and non-Hill's members) understand and abide by all (Food)Safety rules/regulations Oversees site preparation, installation of equipment, control systems, and associated utilities (water, electrical, HVAC, steam, air etc) with contractors or internal maintenance personnel Oversees start up and training of key personnel for new projects. Performs follow up and takes corrective actions. - - Troubleshoots problematic batches and production line deviations. Ensures expected Asset Utilization, Operational Efficiency are achieved Monitor project/program progress, challenge assumptions and data to improve results, modify plans, and take necessary corrective actions. - Negotiates with vendors/suppliers regarding delivery schedules, cost and change control Develops and reviews the training & examination material for Top Plan (I and II). - Co-responsible for accomplishment of this training program Examinator for Packaging and or Processing (Operator A and Operator B level) Support the transitions Global FP&R standard to local programs. Responsible for implementing FP&R programs and supports Operation.
