- CAPO MANUTENTOREOverviewThe Chief Engineer supports the Engineering Manager in ensuring the effective, safe, and smooth operation of the Engineering department.
This role serves as a key point of coordination for day-to-day maintenance operations, staff supervision, and compliance with safety standards.
The Chief Engineer acts as second-in-command, stepping in during the Manager's absence and serving as a reference point for the team of Engineering Supervisors.ResponsibilitiesAssist the Engineering Manager in overseeing all operations of the Engineering departmentSupervise and support Engineering Supervisors and technicians in daily tasks and preventive maintenance plansCoordinate technical interventions across all areas of the resort, ensuring quality and timelinessCollaborate in budget monitoring and cost control, particularly for maintenance operations and energy consumptionLiaise with external contractors and consultants during maintenance projects and upgradesMonitor compliance with health, safety, and fire prevention regulations, supporting internal audits and corrective actionsMaintain up-to-date documentation on systems, procedures, and equipment maintenanceLead or assist in training, evaluating, and motivating the engineering team to ensure high performance and professional developmentImplement MOHG standards and policies across all maintenance activitiesParticipate in the planning and scheduling of maintenance interventions in guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-houseProvide regular updates to the Engineering Manager on technical issues, resource needs, and ongoing projectsContribute to long-term improvement plans for energy saving and sustainable facility managementRequirementsMinimum 3–5 years of experience in a supervisory or mid-level engineering role, ideally within a luxury hospitality settingDegree or diploma in Engineering, Technical Services, or a related fieldStrong technical knowledge in mechanical, electrical, and civil systemsWorking knowledge of Health & Safety and Fire Prevention regulationsGood understanding of budget control and energy-saving practicesExcellent organizational and problem-solving skillsProficient in written and spoken English and ItalianLeadership-oriented mindset with a collaborative, hands-on approachFlexible, reliable, and capable of managing stress and prioritiesEqual Employment OpportunityWe believe a diverse and inclusive culture is better for everyone.
