Position Summary:\nTechnical responsible for systems and components product development, working from concept phase and design up to validation and product release for manufacturing.\nSuspension Systems Engineer will focus on the design and integration of the suspension and its sub-systems on vehicle. Main content in the scope: front/rear vehicle suspension for light commercial vehicles Key Performance Indicators (KPI): on-time development of assigned projects, creating and meeting all specifications and validation requirements and meeting cost/weight/investment/certification targets Responsibilities:\nGovernance and definition of technology roadmaps and benchmark state of art review\nFeasibility study for concept release and technology definition\nProduct development process and design for performance, quality and cost, according to legal and project requirements\nWork in a cross functional team to develop targets, and execute design and development tasks\nWork with the vehicle dynamicists and structural engineers to ensure that the suspension system meets the ride, handling and durability targets\nWriting and issuing technical specifications for suspension components suppliers\nEstablishing targets for cost, weight and functional performance\nDefining program timing and key deliverables in support of the overall vehicle program timing plan\nDeveloping DVPs, DFMEAs and Pass/Fail test criteria for these components. Updating these documents with lessons learned and best practices on a continuous basis\nReviewing CAD, CAE & test data to confirm design is meeting targets and compiles necessary documentation to release to supplier for production\nSupporting prototype and production vehicle builds as needed\nSupporting and participating in system development testing\nManagement of co-design activity with main supplier\nManagement of external teams supporting product design\nDevelopment and management of specification standards and knowledge management documentation The qualified candidate will have:\nMandatory\nBachelor or Master degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering\nEnglish level: upper-intermediate (English test B2 – First Certificate)\nCATIA V5 and 3D software knowledge\nMulty Body software knowledge (Adams Car )\nCommunication skills and ability to engage and correspond with global network of teams, colleagues and interfaces\nUnderstanding of suspension geometry principles, suspension architecture and suspension integration into vehicles\nVehicle dynamics, experience as Multy Body analyst\nDetailed knowledge of suspension system and associated component manufacturers\nFEA based stress skills are desirable\nAbility to write technical specification requirements\nAbility to read and understand technical documents, drawings, specifications, etc\nAbility to lead test and development activities\nAbility to read and process test data\nProcess improvement mindset (lean)\nExperience of Agile methodologies for project development Strongly recommended\nProblem solving approach and ability to react and provide potential solutions based on information received\nAbility to appropriately manage and deliver communication and updates to various level within the organization.\nAbility to work in a team with proactivity, respecting the choices and challenges made by colleagues.\nAbility, knowledge and experience to interact, mentor and manage colleagues from various locations, and business sectors.\nAbility to delegate activities and requests to other colleagues internal and external to functional and reporting group.\n5 years working in high-performance automotive or motorsport suspension design and development\nExperience of active/ adaptive suspension systems\nFMEA experience\nAbility to lead test and development activities\nAbility to read and process test data\nAvailability to business trip\nDriving licence: up to C preferred
