Job Summary: The Automation Application Specialist in the diagnostics industry is responsible for supporting the implementation, optimization, and maintenance of automated diagnostic systems and workflows. This role involves working closely with laboratory staff, customers, and cross-functional teams to ensure that automation solutions meet the needs of diagnostics processes and enhance laboratory efficiency. The specialist will provide technical expertise, training, and ongoing support to ensure successful deployment and operation of automation systems.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Implementation and Support:
o Assist in installation, configuration, and validation of automated diagnostic systems.
o Ensure seamless integration of automation solutions with existing laboratory workflows.
o Provide on-site and remote technical support.
2. Customer Training and Education:
o Conduct training sessions for laboratory staff and customers.
o Develop training materials and documentation.
o Ensure proficiency in operating and troubleshooting automation equipment.
3. Optimization and Continuous Improvement:
o Analyze workflows for automation opportunities.
o Work with customers to optimize system performance.
o Implement enhancements to improve efficiency.
4. Technical Expertise:
o Serve as a subject matter expert on automation in diagnostics.
o Stay updated on latest advancements.
o Provide technical guidance internally and externally.
5. Quality Assurance and Compliance:
o Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., FDA, ISO).
o Conduct audits and inspections.
o Maintain quality control processes.
6. Collaboration and Communication:
o Coordinate with sales, marketing, R&D, and support teams.
o Communicate project updates and challenges.
o Build strong customer relationships.
7. Documentation and Reporting:
o Keep detailed records of activities.
o Report on project progress and system performance.
o Document best practices and lessons learned.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related; Master’s preferred.
* 3-5 years experience in automation systems within diagnostics or labs.
* Strong technical skills with diagnostic systems and lab equipment.
* Proficiency in relevant software/tools.
* Fluency in Italian, English, and a second EU language (Spanish, French, or German).
Working Conditions: Remote position with frequent travel to company locations, clients, and vendors.
