Job Description Summary At Avio Aero, a GE Aerospace Company, we’ve been reimagining the power of flight for more than 100 years. We are specialized in the design, production, and maintenance of components and systems for both civil and military aviation. The Lifing Engineer will be a member of the Engineering Material Systems within the Lifing, Material Behaviors, and Additive Materials team. You will support, participate in, and lead management of military and commercial applications for both new and fielded engine programs and contribute to life methods development. Essential Responsibilities Execution and leadership of tasks with a primary focus on life management for military and commercial applications. Collaborate with GE Aerospace design communities in developing and managing life management approaches, supporting life methods for Avio Aero components. Participate in technology road-mapping and competitive assessments, working with business leaders to initiate and drive new technology programs in computational or experimental methods for engine component design and lifing. Provide technical guidance across the group to grow overall capability and product knowledge in technical focus areas. Develop and maintain strategic relationships with internal and external organizations to accelerate technological advancements for our business customers. Serve as a technical expert to resolve short-term high-risk technical issues in focus areas. Qualifications/Requirements PhD in Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering or related discipline, or Master’s degree with proven industrial experience. Experience in applied fracture mechanics and damage model development. Experience in developing life prediction models and methods. Excellent communication skills. Ability to work across functions/departments as part of a team. Fluent in English. Work Visa, in accordance with local regulations, is required. Desired Characteristics Green belt or Black Belt certification and/or knowledge of statistics. Domain knowledge in gas turbine design and lifing technologies.
