Accountabilities
- Lead and manage a small cross-functional engineering team (backend and frontend), ensuring alignment, productivity, and strong team dynamics
- Actively contribute to product development alongside the team, balancing leadership responsibilities with hands-on coding
- Drive hiring efforts, including interviewing candidates and supporting onboarding processes for new team members
- Foster a positive team environment by providing continuous feedback, coaching, and career development support
- Act as the primary point of contact and advocate for the team, ensuring clear communication and alignment with stakeholders
- Promote engineering best practices, efficient workflows, and high-quality code delivery
- Encourage collaboration, inclusivity, and continuous improvement across the team
Requirements
- Proven experience managing engineering teams (at least 2+ direct reports) in a professional environment
- Strong backend development expertise, particularly with technologies such as Elixir/Phoenix or similar frameworks
- Solid understanding of software engineering principles, architecture, and development best practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members
- Demonstrated ability to balance technical execution with leadership responsibilities
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in managing projects and team workflows
- Experience fostering inclusive, diverse, and high-performing team environments
- Ability to work effectively in a remote, fast-paced, and asynchronous setting
