Italy is the Group’s Competence centre for the design, production and delivery of Navigation Aids products and Competence Centre for the delivery of non‑Radar Surveillance Products. /p pNAS Italy has a vacancy for a bPMO Manager Lead /b to work closely with Bid and Program Managers to ensure that Thales’ Bids and Programs are delivered efficiently, compliantly, and in alignment with Thales’ strategic objectives. This role oversees governance, relational contracting, communications, planning, risk, training, performance and reporting, to maintain consistency and excellence across all initiatives. /p h3Key Areas of Responsibility /h3 ul liSupervise Back Office activities: draft invoicing, materialization, and loading specifications into ERP, manage purchase, execute financial contract clauses (e.g., Letter of Credit or Bank Guarantees) /li liSupervise sales and order administration: inter company quotations, pricing parts for suppliers, order intake management. /li liLeadership Governance: Lead the PMO to ensure consistent application of governance, methodologies and standards across Thales’ in‑service support programs. /li liMaintain frameworks, tools and processes supporting bidproject delivery and reporting. /li liProgram Oversight: Monitor bid project performance, risks and deliverables to support proactive decision‑making. /li liResource Management: Provide management support to the PMO team, including skills and capability development, task allocation, objective setting and training. /li liPlanning, Performance Risk Management: Support performance tracking. /li liOversee identification and mitigation of risks, maintaining accurate risk registers and action plans. /li liImplement lessons learned and improvement actions across programs. /li liRelational Contracting Communications: Facilitate effective communications between industry, engineering, operations /li liPromote transparency and clarity in bidprogram communications /li liManagement and facilitation of Lessons Learned sessions - ensuring a Lessons Learned culture is embedded within Bid Program. /li liTraining Capability Development: Design and deliver training to strengthen bid project management capability across bids programs. /li liMentor bid project managers and coordinators in governance, planning, and risk management best practices. /li liBuild a culture of knowledge sharing and professional growth within the PMO. /li liContinuous Improvement Innovation: Drive automation, standardisation, and digital transformation within PMO operations. /li liEnhance program analytics and reporting using tools such as Power BI /li liChampion process optimisation and operational excellence initiatives. /li /ul h3Minimum Qualifications /h3 ul liDegree or diploma in Business Management is preferred, or relevant proven experience. /li liCertified Practicing Project Manager or equivalent (IPMA and/or PMP certification). /li liMinimum 5 years of experience supporting or managing complex projects. /li liExtensive experience working in a PMO within complex bids programs, particularly in the Defence and Aerospace sectors. /li liEvidence of the ability to provide coaching and development for less‑experienced team members. Comprehensive understanding of generic processes and techniques used to schedule Bid and Program activities (WBS, OBS, milestones, dependencies, EVM). /li liAdvanced user of MS office suite, particularly Excel, including the use of pivot tables / charts. /li liAdvanced user in project scheduling software such as Primavera P6. /li liProficiency in English and Italian is mandatory; a third language is a plus /li /ul h3Preferred Qualifications /h3 ul liIntermediate knowledge of Power Query and Power BI /li liHigh level knowledge of ERP systems such as OCM or SAP /li /ul pAt Thales we provide CAREERS and not only jobs.
