The 3DOM research unit of the Bruno Kessler Foundation (FBK) of Trento (Italy) deals with 3D metrology, 3D reconstruction and geospatial research activities, developing innovative processing methodologies in the field of photogrammetry, geomatics and robotics. The 3DOM unit is part of the Digital Industry Center of FBK which focuses its research activities on digital technologies for the manufacturing industry by creating innovative solutions for adaptive and autonomous systems, advanced perception, diagnostics and prediction systems. Job description 3DOM is looking for a skilled and creative team player with expertise in 3D modeling and AR/VR solutions to join our group and contribute to the development of cutting-edge applications based on large-scale 3D data and geospatial information. This includes the creation of 3D contents and the realization of advanced AR/VR solutions for mobile devices, head-mounted displays or other platforms. The successful candidate will have to work using Unity3D, Unreal Engine or other similar tools and technologies to design and implement fascinating AR/VR experiences. The candidate should be passionate about 3D modeling and AR/VR development and will be partially involved in European projects as well as in internal research activities. The candidate should be familiar with 3D surveying, 3D graphics, animation and physics concepts and is expected to perform explorative and scientific engineering tasks. Job requirements The ideal candidate should have: Master in Geomatics, Informatics, Computer Science, Computer Graphics or related fields or equivalent experiences; Knowledge of gaming and AR/VR development frameworks and technologies, such as Unity3D, Unreal Engine, ARKit, ARCore, etc.; Good skills in programming and developing (C/C++, Phyton, Unreal, Unity, C#, game engine, Blender, etc.); Experiences in large-scale 3D modeling and animations; Problem-solving skills and ability to work independently as well as part of a team; Oral and written proficiency in English; Self-motivation and ability to complete tasks systematically; Good written and verbal communication skills; Flexibility and adaptability. Additional requirements: Knowledge and expertise in reality-based 3D surveying (photogrammetry, laser scanning); Capacity to write clean, efficient and maintainable code, conducting code reviews to ensure high-quality results; Knowledge and expertise in mobile app development (android / iOS); Experience in research environments or R&D-oriented companies; Scientific publications in international conferences and journals.
