Critical Facilities Technician - Milan We're currently partnered with a growing data center provider in Milan that is looking to hire a Critical Facilities Technician to support the operation and maintenance of its mission-critical infrastructure. This position will focus on ensuring the reliability, availability, and performance of essential facility systems across a high-availability environment. You'll be involved in the day-to-day management of electrical and mechanical infrastructure, supporting both planned maintenance and reactive works across the site. The successful candidate will work closely with the wider operations team to maintain critical systems including power distribution, UPS infrastructure, generators, cooling equipment, and monitoring platforms. The role will also involve responding to alarms, supporting incident management, and overseeing contractor activities to ensure operational and safety standards are maintained at all times. Tom.jones@ +496980884760 +442038000922 Responsibilities • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across electrical, cooling, and mechanical infrastructure • Monitor site-critical systems and respond to alarms or operational issues quickly and effectively • Support switching procedures and assist during maintenance and outage activities • Complete routine inspections across facility infrastructure including power and cooling systems • Work alongside external service providers and contractors during maintenance activities • Maintain accurate operational records, reports, and maintenance documentation • Assist with troubleshooting and fault diagnosis across critical systems • Follow operational procedures and safety standards within a 24x7 environment • Support continuous improvement initiatives across site operations Required Skills & Experience • Experience working within a mission-critical or technical facilities environment • Knowledge of critical electrical or mechanical systems such as UPS, generators, switchgear, or HVAC • Familiarity with data center operations or other high-availability • Experience working within a mission-critical or technical facilities environment • Knowledge of critical electrical or mechanical systems such as UPS, generators, switchgear, or HVAC • Familiarity with data center operations or other high-availability environments • Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and operational procedures • Strong problem-solving and fault-finding skills • Understanding of redundancy and resilience within critical environments • Good communication skills and ability to work within a team environment • Comfortable working within a rotating shift pattern • English language skills preferred
