Test Engineer – IoT & Edge Systems (Freelance Opportunity)
Location: Rome / Bari (Hybrid)

We’re looking for a Test Engineer to support testing and validation of IoT devices for grid environments. A great opportunity for freelancers who enjoy hands‑on work with edge systems, cloud platforms, and modern testing frameworks.
What You’ll Do
Test and validate IoT and edge solutions
Manage and monitor edge devices
Work with IoT protocols (MQTT, CoAP, Modbus, OPC‑UA…)
Use AWS/Azure/GCP environments
Work on Ubuntu Linux, Docker, Snap
Write scripts (Python; basic Go/Rust/Java)
Test REST APIs
Use Jira / X‑Ray
Must‑Have
Strong experience with Playwright
Solid Ubuntu Linux skills
Docker & Snap experience
Nice‑to‑Have
IoT protocol experience
DevOps/CI‑CD familiarity
Networking (L2/L3/L4, VLANs, routing, firewalls)
Industrial protocols (Modbus, OPC‑UA, IEC standards)
Smart grid / automation experience
