Ph3Senior Water Operations Manager, AWS EMEA Energy Water Team /h3 pJob ID: | Amazon Data Services Spain, S.L. /p h3Role Overview /h3 pThe successful candidate will oversee the operation and maintenance of the water supply, water treatment, legionella compliance, rainwater harvesting, discharge network and drainage systems for Data Centers (DC) in Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud regions. /p pYou are a customer‑obsessed leader playing an integral part in planning and implementation of the facility network infrastructure, including new‑build handover documentation, infrastructure retrofits, and on‑site water‑positive program initiatives to reduce consumption. /p pPartnering with internal customers and internal/external stakeholders to engage as a team and ensure a timely handover will be part of your critical tasks. /p pThe role will positively contribute to the implementation of safety procedures to safeguard operator safety (confidence spaces, chemical handling, water treatment plant safety systems and calibrations). /p pThe role requires a motivated, self‑managed individual who demonstrates initiative and proactively seeks solutions to problems while striving for operational excellence. /p pThe individual needs a strong willingness to develop learn new processes and adapt to rapidly changing operational scenarios with conflicting priorities. /p pSuccess will be part of the Water team but will strongly align with the Engineering and Facilities team, Critical Project Implementation and Field Engineering, Industrial Hygiene and Environmental teams across the EMEA region. /p h3Key Job Responsibilities /h3 ul liDrive continuous improvement efforts on infrastructure through standardization of procedures and policies, while delivering performance against agreed metrics. /li liCollaborate effectively with internal external stakeholders to deliver operational excellence for all AWS customers. /li liEnsure that the preventive maintenance of site‑critical facility infrastructure is planned and executed to the highest standards, in accordance with AWS procedures. /li liEnsure organisational capability to react respond appropriately to any potential customer‑impacting event on any component of water infrastructure. /li liWork with internal external teams to successfully manage the lifecycle of water improvement projects and act as owner in delivering on project objectives and targets. /li liProactively engage stakeholder teams to identify optimisation opportunities on water consumption or discharge requirements. Support REE deep dives on RCA of compliance failures and rectification works required for improvement. /li liPromptly and accurately communicate project status, risk analysis and risk mitigation plans. Effectively answer project questions in detail, and regularly produce clear and concise summaries for the project to leadership/management team. /li liIdentify and lead process improvement initiatives that improve the Engineering and cross‑teams’ efficiencies, optimising the teams’ value and delivery. /li /ul h3A Day in the Life /h3 ul liCreate reporting to DCEO and regional leadership water related metrics to drive visibility and improvement (DCOEw, water consumption, discharge compliance) via a QBR. Provide secondary data visibility for external third‑party reporting under Water Positive, EU legislation national reporting needs. /li liDraft, update maintain method statements, standard operating procedures, emergency response procedures, preventive maintenance programmes, and all technical documentation pertaining to water management on site. /li liPerform equipment/system installation, throughput and safety qualifications. Simplify, optimise, remove bottlenecks and provide feedback while resolving difficult system problems or technical deficiencies. /li /ul h3About the Team /h3 pWater Operations focuses on the mechanical, electrical and controls systems that support water within our data centre critical environments. /p pThe Water Operations role must be able to build and lead high‑performing teams across the EMEA region to support Engineering Operations, understand and support their day‑to‑day operations and/or 3rd‑party specialist vendors while at the same time having the technical capability and curiosity to dive deep into any given challenges as needed. /p pAs a water operational owner in Amazon you can innovate to solve these issues and help drive operations excellence in all areas for water. /p pYou will have the ability to refine and develop processes to optimise operational excellence in every aspect of your role. You must also have a passion for technology along with a desire to achieve best‑in‑the‑world operational performance. /p h3Basic Qualifications /h3 ul liKnowledge of critical data center mechanical and electrical equipment. /li liExperience in data center design, construction, operations, or facility maintenance. /li liBachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or other STEM field, or 7+ years of experience as a Project Engineer, Process Engineer, Project Manager, Manufacturing Engineer, or related occupation in the water operation field. /li li4+ years of demonstrated experience managing the lifecycle of cross‑functional projects, implementing automated equipment and/or integrated systems. /li li5+ years of demonstrated experience in Operations and Maintenance requirements for safe water supplies (disinfection, legionella control). /li li3+ years of demonstrated organisational capability to react respond appropriately to any potential customer‑impacting event on any component of water infrastructure. /li /ul h3Preferred Qualifications /h3 ul liProfessional Engineering or Architectural License. /li liKnowledge of building codes and regulations for your region. /li liExperience carrying design concepts through exploration, development, and into deployment or mass production. /li liExperience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications submittal documents. /li li5+ years of demonstrated experience in water treatment and operation and maintenance. /li liMaster’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Business Administration, or a related STEM field. /li /ul h3Equal Opportunity /h3 pAmazon is an equal opportunities employer.
