Teacher - Primary Science
South Metropolitan Education Region is seeking a dedicated Teacher - Science to join their team.
The successful applicant will work across the school, conducting science lessons with students from Years 1 to 6. They should be able to work independently and innovatively to provide high-quality hands-on learning opportunities linked to the Western Australian Curriculum.
The ideal candidate will be flexible and take on other roles as needed within the school. They should also support other specialist teachers as part of a team.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout the school for up to 12 months following the initial appointment.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains:

3. Professional engagement.
Applicants will be assessed against these domains. The business needs of the school may also be considered.
Applications will be submitted online. A three-page statement addressing the domains that govern the role, in context of the role and business needs of the school, is required. A CV of up to three pages outlining employment history and professional learning summary relevant to this position is also required. Contact details for two work-related referees who can attest to claims made in the written application are necessary.
Eligibility
Employees will be required to provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy. They must obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment. A current Working with Children Check is also required. Employees must meet the Department of Education requirements.
Training
Employees will be required to complete the Department's induction program within three months of commencement. They must also complete the Department's Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement. Any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy must be completed.
This selection process applies a four-day breach period.
