Job Description
The Environmental and Compliance Program Owner plays a crucial role in ensuring site compliance efforts with respect to Environmental Management systems.
* Management of waste streams, air emissions, water discharge, utilities, and raw materials consumptions
* Assessment of environmental impacts of the site
* Monitoring applicable regulations, codes, practices, and evaluating their impacts on our management system
* Coordinating external contractors involved in the activities above (e.g., trainers, consultants, laboratory services)
* Evaluating possible impacts of internal and external changes (technological, organizational, product-related, etc.) in the context of the organization
* Monitoring correct execution and application of environmental procedures and practices
* Owning the Environmental Permitting process
* Serving as a trusted partner for the organization, for everything related to Environment and Environmental Compliance
* Monitoring and reporting environmental and sustainability data and indexes
* Being an internal auditor for the EHS management system
* Being the OCS Champion for the site
Responsibilities
You will be involved in the following tasks:
* Ownership of environmental policies and procedures for the site
* Ensuring that local policies and procedures follow regulatory and corporate requirements
* Working with function leaders to ensure that environmental practices are successfully implemented and employees are adequately proficient on environmental topics and related management procedures
* Ownership of environmental risk assessment, environmental compliance programs, environmental monitoring program, and environmental improvement plan
* Reviewing site Management of Change requests and Capital Project Scopes to evaluate potential environmental impacts and ensure risks are mitigated before change is approved for start-up
* Serving as an auditor in Self-Assessment program for Safety, Health, and Environmental programs
* Investigating and following up on environmental incidents
Requirements
We are looking for candidates who possess the following qualifications:
* Bachelor's Degree in Science or Engineering
* Minimum 3 years of relevant experience working on environmental topics; experience in chemical manufacturing is considered a plus
* Strong knowledge of environmental practices and policies
* Strong knowledge of environmental regulations applicable to Italy and EU
* Knowledge of ISO 14001 Certification Scheme (knowledge of the OCS program is considered a plus)
* Languages: Italian (fluent), English (good)
* IT proficiencies: MS Office (good), basic CAD proficiency is considered a plus
* Able to work with and communicate effectively with all levels in the organization
* RSPP A and B qualifications (Safety Manager qualifications according to Italian Decree 81/08) are considered a plus
