The Senior Surveyor plays a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy, quality, and continuous improvement of surveying processes. /p h3Key Accountabilities /h3 ul liSpecialist Expertise:ul liServe as a subject matter expert on maritime Rules and Regulations, ensuring all surveying activities comply with the latest statutory and classification requirements. /li liMonitor evolving industry standards and contribute recommendations for updating procedures and safety protocols to enhance operational effectiveness. /li /ul /li liInspection and Reporting:ul liPerform detailed surveys and inspections of classed vessels, offshore installations, and other marine assets, verifying compliance with established regulations. /li liPrepare comprehensive, precise technical reports within designated timeframes to document findings and support certification processes. /li /ul /li liLeadership and Coordination:ul liOrganise and manage surveying schedules, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and timely completion of inspections. /li liMentor and guide junior surveyors, fostering professional development and maintaining team performance standards. /li /ul /li liClient Relations:ul liMaintain proactive communication with clients to address concerns, resolve complex technical issues, and promote satisfaction with survey outcomes. /li liAct as a trusted advisor, offering expert solutions aligned with client and regulatory expectations. /li /ul /li liTraining and Development:ul liDeliver training programs and technical support to less experienced colleagues, enhancing collective expertise within the surveying team. /li liEngage in continuous professional learning to remain current with industry advancements and best practices. /li /ul /li liQuality Assurance:ul liEnsure all surveying activities uphold RINA’s quality benchmarks, maintaining consistency, accuracy, and regulatory compliance across all inspections. /li /ul /li liEthical Conduct:ul liAdhere to the highest ethical standards, promoting integrity, fairness, and transparency in all professional undertakings. /li /ul /li /ul h3Education /h3 pMaster’s Degree in Naval Engineering /p h3Qualifications /h3 ul liMinimum three years’ direct experience as a Surveyor or at least six years in engineering, inspection, or related survey roles within an IACS Classification Society. /li liAdvanced understanding of RINA’s technical strategy within the marine sector, coupled with a Master’s Degree in Naval Engineering. /li liProficient English communication skills suitable for completing classification, statutory certification processes, and related services effectively. /li liDemonstrated capability to interpret and apply RINA Rules, Guides, statutory regulations and internal safety policies. /li liCompetence in reading engineering plans and comprehensive knowledge of shipbuilding and operational practices. /li liExperience in conducting new building surveys, in-service ship surveys, marine management system audits, and related certification assessments. /li liPractical knowledge of ship engineering systems, machinery, and relevant computer software applications essential for survey activities. /li liStrong analytical skills and collaborative mindset to engage in multidisciplinary project environments. /li /ul h3Competencies /h3 ul liWORKPLACE DYNAMICS - Resourcefulness in shaping progress and working efficiently. /li liFORESIGHT INSIGHT - Context awareness adopting a systemic perspective and informed decision making. /li liPERSONAL EMPOWERMENT - Ownership for life, work and results, striving to grow professionally and personally. /li liINTERPERSONAL INFLUENCE - Skills and strategies we use to interact effectively with others. /li liDOMAIN BUSINESS ACUMEN - Applying a scientific approach and critical thinking in operations and solution development within area of expertise. /li /ul h3Compensation Data /h3 pThe salary range and job grade for this position are defined based on objective, role‑related criteria and responsibilities in accordance with bCCNL RINA /b (CNEL code I480). The gross annual salary range foreseen is between € 35.000 and € 40.000 and will be finally defined on candidate’s professional experience, qualifications, competencies and overall alignment with the role. In addition, an annual variable compensation component is provided, based on both Company and individual performance objectives in accordance with the current policies and collective agreements.
