PpSelect how often (in days) to receive an alert: /p h3Genoa Marine Surveyor /h3 pCity: Genova /p pLocation: Genova, IT, 16128 /p pContract Type: Permanent /p pDivision: Mediterranean and Africa Marine /p pLevel of experience: Junior /p pRINA is currently recruiting for a bGenoa Marine Surveyor /b to join its office in bGenoa, Italy /b within the bMediterranean and Africa Marine /b Division. /p h3Mission /h3 pA surveyor in a classification society plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety, compliance, and quality of ships and marine assets. The main responsibilities are aimed at verifying that vessels meet international and classification society standards. /p h3Key Accountabilities /h3 ol liRegulatory Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to classification society rules, international regulations, and statutory requirements during surveys and inspections. Apply new regulations as they arise. /li liTechnical Expertise: ul liProvide expert technical advice to clients, shipowners, and manufacturers on matters related to classification, design, construction, and maintenance. /li liStay abreast of the latest industry technologies, innovations, and advancements to ensure the application of cutting‑edge knowledge in surveys. /li /ul /li liProblem‑Solving: Act as a troubleshooter, addressing technical issues and challenges that may arise during surveys or client interactions. /li liQuality Assurance: Implement quality assurance measures in survey processes to uphold the highest standards of accuracy and reliability in inspection reports. /li liClient Education: Educate clients on classification society processes, rules, and the importance of compliance for safety and operational efficiency. /li liDocumentation and Reporting: ul liUse standardized templates for inspection reports, ensuring consistency, clarity and timeliness in reporting. /li liIntegrate digital tools for efficient documentation management and reporting. /li /ul /li liCollaboration and Teamwork: ul liCollaborate with colleagues, both within the classification society and externally, to share knowledge, experiences, and best practices. /li liActively participate in team meetings and contribute to a collaborative work environment. /li /ul /li liContinuous Professional Development: ul liEngage in ongoing professional development to stay current with evolving industry standards, technologies, and best practices. /li liPursue relevant certifications or qualifications to enhance expertise. /li /ul /li liEthical Conduct: Uphold the highest ethical standards in all professional interactions, ensuring integrity, transparency, and fairness in survey processes. /li /ol h3Education /h3 pMaster’s Degree in Naval Engineering /p h3Qualifications /h3 ul liIn general, minimum 3 years’ experience working as a Junior Surveyor or minimum 5 years’ experience in the engineering or survey fields within the marine industry or other applicable industry to their specialization. /li liProficiency in the English language commensurate with the scope of classification, statutory certification, related services and, before assignment, with their future work. /li liAbility to develop a working knowledge of RINA Rules, Guides, statutory regulations, and related instructions, as well as the RINA Employee Safety Policy. /li liAbility to understand engineering plans and have basic knowledge of shipbuilding practices and ship operations. /li liAbility, in general, to perform either, ul liNew building surveys: ul liAsses the suitability of certified materials and products supplied for the new building. /li liAsses that hull, machinery and equipment have been built in compliance with rules and regulations by means of compulsory inspections, tests and trials. /li liIssue certificates, reports, records and status in compliance with rules and regulations. /li /ul /li liShip in service surveys: ul liAssess that hull, machinery and equipment have been maintained in compliance with rules and regulations by means of compulsory overall inspections, tests and trials. /li liIdentify deficiencies to be rectified and assess whether immediate repair is necessary or a condition may be issued with an appropriate due date. /li liFollow-up as required by rules and regulations any repair work or due to previous outstanding conditions. /li liAssess whether deficiencies identified may be linked with potential failure of the Ship Management System. /li liEndorse certificates, issue reports and status in compliance with rules and regulations. /li /ul /li liMarine Management Systems audits. /li liTesting activities and service suppliers/manufacturers certification: ul liAssess the suitability of certified materials and products in compliance with applicable rules. /li liIssue certificates and prepare reports and status in compliance with procedures. /li /ul /li /ul /li liKnowledge of ships’ engineering systems and machinery. /li liKnowledge of computer programs or software packages related to job responsibilities. /li liKnowledge of related technical interfaces required for group project work. /li /ul ul liMAKE EFFECTIVE DECISIONS -
