Overview Software Engineer, Annapurna Labs, ML Accelerator Systems Firmware. Annapurna Labs designs and builds hardware and software for high-performance ML servers, including work from inception to customer delivery. We seek an experienced Software Development Engineer to join the ML Acceleration Board Firmware team, responsible for developing server software to initialize, debug, and monitor ML accelerators in data centers. The team deploys software across diverse environments, including pre-silicon emulation, hardware manufacturing, automated testing, and production systems used by customers. Technologies include operating systems, computer architecture, and embedded systems. We use C, C++, Lua, bash, Python and related languages. The team focuses on co-developing reliable server software and hardware for customers to deploy ML workloads at scale. Responsibilities Develop systems software and kernel drivers Define tests and automation flows to validate firmware Evaluate and optimize firmware performance Build data collection and aggregation systems at AWS scale Build error detection and recovery mitigation systems at AWS scale Develop software that initializes machine learning accelerators and monitors server health by collecting sensor data, logs, and device metrics Day to Day / Work Style The team focuses on scalability through automation, software best practices, and strong architectural abstractions. You will work in a highly cross-functional environment with software and hardware teams to optimize customer experience, building scalable systems tested across manufacturing and production stages. You will leverage automation, continuous integration, and fleet metrics to deploy and monitor changes.
