Description
On behalf of a client company operating in the space field, we are looking for a Mechanical AIT Technician/Engineer for its Satellites & Missions Business Unit in Milano.
The candidate will be working as part of a team on the integration of a Flight Satellite. The candidate shall guarantee the soundness of the technical approach, in terms of solutions and of implementation.
Your Tasks:
* Collaborate with the AIT Team on the Mechanical Integration of the structure of the satellite PFM model;
* Flight equipment integration;
* Waveguide integration;
* Flight harness integration;
* Coax cable integration;
* Structural component integration;
* Use of basic hand tools (torque tools, screwdrivers, spanners, measurement tools);
* Gluing and integration of thermal and mechanical sensors: thermocouples, thermistors, heaters, accelerometers;
* Support System AIT on the implementation of the MAIT process and related documents;
* Handling of Satellite and related MGSE, including use of cherry picker, forklift, and crane;
* Mechanical support during Satellite Environmental Test Campaign;
* Mechanical support during Satellite Launch Campaign.
Your Qualifications:
* Good background in Mechanical Engineering and Satellite integration;
* Experience in the AIT area of Space Systems;
* Hands-on knowledge of the system engineering process for space projects;
* System-oriented thinking and vision;
* Proficiency with CAD tools, preferably NX or Catia;
* Good knowledge of Office Suite;
* Experience working to fine tolerances, in clean room environments or high-quality manufacturing areas;
* Flexibility to work shifts;
* Ability to work at height and in restricted spaces;
* Basic engineering hand skills (filing, drilling, tapping, heli-coil installation);
* Certification and skill in flight harness crimping;
* Ability to use measurement tools like calipers and micrometers, torque wrenches;
* Experience with aerospace adhesives;
* Soft skills: ability to work under pressure, creative problem-solving, responsibility, motivation, initiative, proactivity, autonomy.
Required Skills include a good background in Mechanical Engineering, satellite integration, system-oriented thinking, CAD proficiency, shift flexibility, hand skills, measurement tools familiarity, aerospace adhesives experience, and strong soft skills.
