Job Description
Inside Technical Support, responding to the Transportation & Logistics (T&L) Specialist Support Manager, T&L Industrial Scanners Specialist Support Engineer will contribute to the success of Datalogic by delivering technical support for sales, distributors and customers and by preparing and delivering trainings regarding Logistic Automation products.
T&L Industrial Scanners Specialist Support Engineer will be tasked with collecting troubleshooting information and to cooperate with Customers and other Datalogic departments to roll out necessary resolutions in a timely and participates to the assessment of feasibility and development of customization requests made by Customers.
Key Responsabilities:
1. Deliver Technical Support to Partners and End Customers via mail/phone/CRM. Reproduce Customer issues by appropriate design of experiments; raise, document and test bug/improvement notifications whenever necessary.
2. Receive requirements of Special Products Requests (mainly software feature or communication protocols to add writing in C++), evaluate the feasibility, and develop the solution by working closely with Application Engineering and R&D.
3. Visit Customer plants, when necessary, to assess or fix a problem at Customer site.
Requirements:
4. Education: Master’s Degree in Electronics, Telecommunications, Automation, or Software Engineering
5. Languages: Fluent Italian and English; written and verbal communication
6. Experience: 1-3 years of experience in Technical Support or Application Engineering positions in Electronics or Automation companies.
Other Information & Specific Skills:
7. Strong interest and curiosity towards Industrial Automation.
8. Knowledge of C++ Embedded programming.
9. Knowledge of Ethernet networking concepts and TCP-IP protocols.
10. Ability to read and understand specifications, electrical schematics, or datasheets.
11. Problem solving mindset and strong focus on delivery; commitment to quality and time.
12. Ability to read the real situation and adapt accordingly, eager to the interact with people of different backgrounds and technical competences as a team player.
13. Good negotiation skills and being a “good listener” are key asset for this position.
14. PLC programming concepts and programming is a plus.
15. Knowledge of scripting language (Python, Javascript or other) is a plus.
