Panoramica
Under the guidance of the Trinseo Global Product Leader and regional business stakeholders, the Product Stewardship Specialist / Expert is responsible for defining and executing product regulatory compliance across various regions of commercial sales (primarily NA, EU, AP). This role must ensure business compliance with all product regulatory and industry standards concerning hazard communications, regional chemical inventories, and end-use product handling restrictions. The individual must ensure all internal and external communications regarding Product Stewardship concerns are appropriately managed through the calculation, review, and assessment of detailed product compositions (with detailed raw material knowledge), under the guidance of the Product Stewardship Leader.
Responsabilità
* Represent Global Product Stewardship with relevant business functions (including Quality, TS&D, R&D, product supply, and Commercial) to address Product Stewardship concerns, focusing on product development, sustainable solutions, market expansion, and R&D objectives.
* Respond to customer inquiries about our products, mainly regarding the absence of chemicals of concern, compliance with sector regulations, and sustainability, aiming for responses within 10 business days.
* Assess and approve raw materials and finished products by collaborating with procurement, R&D, sales, and suppliers. Evaluate product compliance in new regions and with specific end-use regulations, ensuring adherence to country requirements and internal policies.
* Manage hazard communication by collaborating with the Hazard Communication team to author and revise SDS documents, assess product hazards, and communicate hazard classifications and safe handling methods.
* Maintain compliance documentation by updating raw material data via communication with suppliers and utilizing the Raw Material Regulatory Checklist (RMRC).
* Define detailed product compositions based on starting materials to ensure regulatory compliance and understand restrictions related to regions or end-use applications.
* Collaborate with regional product stewards to improve best practices by end-use sectors.
* Monitor regulatory changes, assess impacts, and implement compliance strategies to adapt to evolving regulations.
* Maintain expertise on sensitive end-use applications like food contact and medical devices to address customer concerns and ensure product safety.
* Evaluate product additives and compositions for sustainability, promoting reduction or elimination of PBT and high concern chemicals.
* Support change management assessments to evaluate impacts of product modifications on EH&S risks and communicate changes to customers.
* Judge the EH&S risks of new products/applications using the Business Risk Review process and train leadership on risk management procedures.
* Assist in providing compositional information for the IMDS database, ensuring timely responses for automotive customers.
Qualifiche
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Toxicology, Biology, or Environmental Sciences is required.
2-5 years of experience in Product Stewardship is essential.
Understanding of EU chemical regulations (REACH, CLP) and product/application knowledge is essential.
Excellent communication skills to translate complex regulations into business requirements are necessary.
Experience with Polyurethanes, global teams, non-EU regulations, toxicology, and EU food contact regulation is a plus.
Fluency in Italian and English, proficiency with Microsoft Office, and experience with SAP and ESPS modules are preferred.
