Sustainable Manufacturing Programme Manager - Energy JOB PURPOSE The Sustainable Manufacturing Manager - Energy will play a pivotal role in helping Burberry achieve our Net Zero commitment by 2040 and our goal to reduce our Scope 3 emissions by 46% by 2030. The main purpose of the role is the development and implementation of a Manufacturing Supply Chain programme to support our supply chain partners reduce their carbon emissions through energy efficiency and decarbonisation. You will actively engage with our suppliers to drive progress and deliver meaningful impact, while embedding sustainability principles cross-functionally in our ways of working. You will also contribute to the implementation of Burberry’s Sustainable Manufacturing broader ambitions, including our water, chemicals and waste, supporting the achievement of the team’s goals. RESPONSIBILITIES • Develop a Manufacturing Supply Chain Roadmap in line with Burberry’s Scope 3 emissions reduction goals. • Enhance Energy data management and governance from Burberry’s Manufacturing Supply Chain to enable carbon informed decision making, progress tracking and reporting; find synergies with other data requirements (such as water or waste). • Identify Supply Chain key energy efficiency and decarbonisation opportunities, including technology innovations, to drive improvements and support the development of action plans by Supply Chain Partners as required. • Engage and partner with key industry initiatives and stakeholders (e.g. The Fashion Pact) to accelerate and collaboratively work on Manufacturing Supply Chain decarbonisation • Contribute to the implementation of Burberry’s Sustainable Manufacturing broader ambitions, including our water, chemicals and waste programmes, and seamlessly work with other programme leads • In collaboration with the broader Sustainable Manufacturing team, you will organise capacity building activities (webinars, workshops, Supply Chain events, etc) to drive progress in our goal to embed Sustainable Manufacturing practices across our value chain, including Energy and other team focus areas. PERSONAL PROFILE • Postgraduate studies in Textile/Leather Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Carbon Management or equivalent relevant disciplines • Knowledge of the Apparel Industry and manufacturing processes - or cross-industry Energy/Decarbonisation • Experience in factories energy audits or efficiency assessments • Excellent Programme Management skills, with experience in Supply Chain programme implementation • Passionate about Supply Chain and Sustainability • Availability to travel within Italy (mostly) and Europe (occasionally) • Fluent in English and Italian, proficiency with MS Office applications • Based within commuting distance to Milan, would also consider Turin or Florence locations MEASURES OF SUCCESS FOOTER Burberry is an Equal Opportunities Employer and as such, treats all applications equally and recruits purely on the basis of skills and experience.
