Project Manager Data Center
Location: Milan or Rome, Italy
We are looking for a Project Manager to lead the development, construction and commissioning of electrical and utilities infrastructure for a new data centre in Italy. This role will also support business development and strategic initiatives related to project development.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead energy & utilities projects from concept to delivery ensuring alignment with business goals.
* Coordinate with engineers, contractors, stakeholders and utility providers for HV/MV infrastructure.
* Supervise the design and construction of substations and power lines ensuring timely delivery within budget.
* Manage resources, budgets, schedules and quality control processes.
* Track project progress, conduct regular meetings and elevate issues as necessary.
* Negotiate contracts and bids with contractors, developers and consultants.
* Support site due diligence activities and resolve factors impacting project handover.
* Review deliverables, raise queries and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
* Prepare progress reports to support decision‑making and collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
Key Requirements:
* Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Industrial, Energy Engineering or a related field.
* Advanced knowledge of HV/MV electrical systems and Italian electricity regulations; experience in other European markets is a plus.
* 3 years experience working with DSOs, TSO suppliers or utilities.
* Proven experience in planning, design, permitting and construction of HV/MV substations and underground power lines.
* Familiarity with power line concessions, interconnection agreements and utility operating models in Italy.
* Experience with data centre clients is an advantage.
* Strong analytical, problem‑solving, negotiation and communication skills.
* Proactive, autonomous, flexible and commercially astute.
* Fluent in Italian and English.
