Responsibility
As an Operational Support Engineer at Vestas, you will play a key role in improving the Handling and Logistics processes for wind turbine blades pats and whole blades.
If you do not have a deep knowledge within Handling & Transport of blades, you will have motivation to gain it.
Your improvements shall support process stability and capability to improve overall business performance; Safety Quality Delivery and Cost (SQDC).
Your main responsibilities
Facilitate continuous improvement on Handling and Transport processes across the manufacturing sites.
Analyze AS IS and future state and be motivated to improve activities.
Create and maintain a plan for improvement.
Create the needed Engineering Change Notices (CN's).
Lead improvement tasks / projects.
Case handler on an escalation process, used when factories cannot progress production – urgent and often critical to get solved fast.
Be part of building a culture of excellence, innovation, and responsibility.
Investigate and solve production issues using structured methods such as the 5x Whys and Fishbone Diagrams.
Apply continuous improvement principles using quality tools like Lean.
Education
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or similar
GB Lean
Experience
About 6-8 years of experience in similar roles as described above

Transport tool specification
Process flow creation
Focused on optimization and standardization within manufacturing processes with use of the toolbox
Core competences
A blend of technical, analytical, and operational competencies tailored to Handling & Transport and continuous improvement.
Skills in process design and optimization related to Handling & Transport.
Willingness to spend time in the factory environment to understand and solve problems.
Data-Driven Decision Making, use of data analytics tools such as Lean.
Use of 5 Whys, Fishbone diagrams, and FMEA to identify and solve Handling or Logistics issues.
Self-motivated, results-oriented with strong organizational discipline.
Ability to work with others across cultures and time zones and to engage stakeholders.
Customer-oriented with understanding of the full business value chain from a customer perspective.
