The Opportunity
A leading international FMCG group is seeking a Managing Director for its Italian business, a senior country leadership role with full P&L ownership and accountability for the overall performance, growth, and strategic direction of the business.
The Italian operation is profitable and strategically important, currently generating approximately €100m in turnover, with a clear ambition to grow to €150m over the next three years. The Managing Director will lead a business of around 160 employees, with manufacturing based in Naples, and responsibility across branded retail, private label, and developing HoReCa channels.
This role represents the senior-most leadership position in Italy, acting as the key interface between the local organisation and international group stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
* Full ownership of the Italian P&L, strategy, and business performance
* Define and execute the country growth strategy, aligned with group objectives
* Lead, develop, and inspire the Italian leadership team and wider organisation
* Drive commercial, sales, and channel-led growth across branded, private label, and HoReCa
* Build senior relationships with key customers, partners, and distributors
* Oversee operational and supply chain performance to ensure delivery against commercial commitments
* Act as the senior representative of the business internally and externally
Candidate Profile
* Proven experience as a Managing Director, General Manager, or Country Leader within FMCG or food manufacturing
* Strong commercial and sales-led background, with demonstrable P&L accountability
* Track record of leading established, multi-functional teams
* Comfortable operating with autonomy within an international group structure
* Experience managing branded and private label portfolios
* Fluent Italian is essential
* Based in Naples or willing to relocate (non-negotiable)
