Job ID: 3155585 | Amazon.com Services LLC
Project Kuiper is Amazon's long‑term initiative to design, launch, and maintain a constellation of low‑earth orbit satellites that provide broadband connectivity to underserved communities worldwide. This role supports one of Kuiper's most capital‑intensive supply chain areas by optimizing financial planning and analysis for ASIC procurement operations.
Key Job Responsibilities
Design, build, and maintain comprehensive financial models that evaluate ASIC procurement strategies and supplier performance, enabling data‑driven decision making for multimillion‑dollar procurement decisions.
Develop detailed cost forecasts and budget plans that inform Kuiper's satellite production roadmap and identify cost‑optimization opportunities.
Partner with ASIC procurement stakeholders to analyze supplier agreements, contract structures, and pricing models, drafting financial summaries for leadership review.
Develop and implement scalable reporting mechanisms that provide visibility into key procurement performance indicators, including purchase order tracking, inventory turnover, supplier metrics, and cost variance analysis.
Proactively identify opportunities to improve financial processes, enhance data quality, and increase operational efficiency across the Kuiper ASIC procurement organization.
Analyze potential procurement initiatives, evaluate supplier capabilities, and assess make‑versus‑buy decisions to support strategic planning and resource allocation.
Monitor and analyze inventory performance metrics—turnover ratios, PO receipts, sub‑assemblies, consumption—to optimize working capital management.
A Day in the Life
Your day begins by reviewing key procurement financial metrics and preparing for a meeting with ASIC procurement partners to evaluate the financial impact of a proposed supplier agreement. You analyze contract structures, build financial models to assess total cost of ownership, forecast potential cost savings, and draft a financial summary for a proposed multi‑year ASIC supply agreement, highlighting unit economics, volume commitments, payment terms, and supply‑chain risks.
