Role Descritpion
\nWe are seeking an Automation Engineer to contribute to the design, development, and integration of advanced automation architectures for battery systems and containerized energy solutions. This role is ideal for a technically strong engineer with a systems-oriented mindset, capable of working across control, simulation, and software layers.\n
The Automation
\nEngineer will play a key role in defining control architectures, developing digital twins, and implementing simulation-driven and predictive approaches to system design and operation. A significant part of the role involves applying digital twin models to real-world case studies to assess technical feasibility, system impact, and potential economic profitability of different solutions and configurations. Working closely with electrical, mechanical, and product teams, this position supports the transition from laboratory and pilot-scale systems to robust, industrialized solutions. A PhD or strong academic background in automation, control, or related fields is highly valued.\n
Responsibilities

\n
- Contribute to the design and implementation of automation and control architectures for battery stacks and containerized energy systems
\n
- Develop control strategies for system operation, safety, diagnostics, and performance optimization
\n
- Design, develop, and maintain digital twins for system validation, virtual commissioning, and lifecycle support
\n
- Apply digital twin models to multiple real-world case studies to evaluate technical feasibility, system performance impact, and potential profitability
\n
- Build simulation and predictive models to support design decisions, performance forecasting, optimization, and fault detection
\n
- Work with product and system engineers to align automation solutions with system architecture, scalability, and business objectives
\n
- Support integration of PLCs, industrial controllers, SCADA systems, and industrial communication protocols
\n
- Participate in the definition of automation standards, control guidelines, and best practices
\n
- Support prototyping, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of automated systems
\n
- Contribute to continuous improvement of system reliability, controllability, and maintainability
\n
\nQualifications\n
\n
- MSc or PhD in Automation Engineering, Control Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
\n
- 3+ years of experience in automation or control of complex systems (energy systems, industrial machinery, robotics, or similar)
\n
- Experience in defining automation and control architectures for complex or distributed systems
\n
- Solid background in digital twins, system simulation, and predictive or model-based approaches
\n
- Experience working in multidisciplinary R&D; and engineering environments
\n
- Strong analytical mindset and problem-solving skills
\n
- Ability to combine theoretical modeling with practical, hands-on engineering work
\n
- Excellent written and spoken English
