The Senior Manager is one of our most senior management roles in the data center environment. In this role, you will be responsible for leading a large organization, managing department heads who own data center facility infrastructure including the operational availability of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems. If you are passionate about Customer Experience, think and act globally, and want to contribute to the operational excellence of Amazon.com data centers, this may be the challenge you’ve been looking for. /p h3Key job responsibilities /h3 ul liHiring, managing, and developing the operations management team, including facilities managers, chief engineering managers and engineering operations technicians. /li liAttainment of organizational performance goals and objectives related to safety, security, availability, scaling, and efficiency in support of our data center operations. /li liPlanning and executing the Infrastructure Operations component of new AWS data center build‑outs, new colocation build‑outs, AWS data center expansions, and colocation expansions, including the entire mechanical/electrical/plumbing infrastructure to facilitate daily operation. /li liOperation and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and controls systems for Amazon data centers, including preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, and change management. /li liVendor management of colocation data center services providers, if required, to meet or exceed contracted performance SLA’s. /li liOversight of a preventative maintenance system and adherence to schedules, evaluation and performance of our infrastructure supporting data center operations. /li liExperience in successful insourcing and/or outsourcing specific maintenance tasks, balancing internal skillsets with frugality. /li liSafety, security, and incident response, incident management, and incident resolution. /li liContinuous improvement of operational processes, procedures, methods, and tools. /li /ul h3Basic Qualifications /h3 ul liBachelor's degree or above in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. /li liExperience in delivering design solutions for projects of large scope and complexity. /li liExperience managing large teams across multiple locations and languages, or experience as an acting operations manager. /li liExperience communicating with technical and non‑technical audiences, including senior leadership. /li li5+ years of analytical, quantitative, communication, and presentation experience. /li li10+ years of relevant work in a data center or other critical environment. /li /ul h3Preferred Qualifications /h3 ul liExperience with continuous improvement methods such as Kaizen, Lean, DMAIC, etc. /li liKnowledge of mechanical, electrical, and controls systems for critical infrastructures. /li liExperience in one or more IT infrastructure domains (storage, compute, networking, security, software development, systems administration, database engineering or administration, machine learning, cloud infrastructure, big data, DevOps, or other IT infrastructure domain). /li /ul pAmazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. The base pay for this position ranges from $164,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $313,300/year in our highest geographic market.
