In this role, you will be responsible for designing and developing complex C++ software that powers Garmin’s marine mobile solutions, delivering high-quality mobile applications to our customers. \r\n\r\n Develop complex software in C++\r\n Develop and maintain mobile applications using Java/Kotlin/JNI (Android) and Objective-C/Swift (iOS)\r\n Create and execute designs of Garmin products following applicable software development methodology and releases processes \r\n Gain experience of SW engineering tools (such as configuration management systems, build processes, and debuggers) as part of the Garmin software development process \r\n Collaborate and add value through participation in peer code reviews, providing comments and suggestions \r\n Perform technical root cause analysis and outline corrective action for given problems \r\n Perform unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability \r\n Participate in product/application definition activities, including feature analysis and system tradeoffs \r\n\r\n Bachelor’s degree plus 1-year relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience \r\n Strong C++ programming \r\n Thorough understanding of computing fundamentals such as data structures, algorithms, memory management, and multithreading \r\n Ability to quickly react to feedback, new requirements, and priorities \r\n Excellent written and oral communication skills \r\n Fluency in English \r\n\r\n Relevant experience in software development, image processing and data modelling \r\n Familiarity with Agile (Scrum) project methodologies \r\n Knowledge of Android and/or iOS frameworks \r\n Experience with Android Studio and Xcode IDEs \r\n Experience in code management (GIT/ Gerrit), configuration management systems and building processes (e.g., Experience in cross compiling C++ applications \r\n\r\n Garmin® Italy Technologies produces electronic charts for the leisure boating market.
