Rottapharm Biotech, a research company dedicated to the discovery and development of innovative drugs in different therapeutic areas, such as rheumatology (osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis), pain and inflammation, immunology and immuno-oncology, is seeking a researcher to join the R&D team. The researcher will be involved in the discovery and development of next-generation AAV capsids for use in gene therapies targeting osteoarthritis (OA) tissues.
Key Responsibilities:
· Prepares and maintains cell cultures (including primary cell cultures), perform studies and experiments including tissue processing, biochemical analyses, DNA, RNA and protein isolation, qRT-PCR, ELISA, immunoblot processing.
· Plan and execute in vitro and vivo screening campaigns in human OA tissues and animal OA models; analyze biodistribution and transduction profiles across tissues.
· Develop and implement in vitro screening assays, including binding assays and transduction readouts in relevant cell lines.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams on vector design, production, and payload optimization.
· Data analysis and management.
· Maintain accurate records of experimental design and outcomes; contribute to internal reports, presentations, and publications.
Qualifications:
BSc, MSc, or PhD in a relevant subject such as Virology or Molecular Biology or Cell Biology with an AVV focus.
Strong molecular biology and cell culture skills. Skills include mammalian cell culture (stable and adherent lines), vector engineering, genetic engineering, PCR, transfection, transduction, and assay development.
· Strong foundation in AAV biology and capsid structure-function.
· Experience with high-throughput screening, and NGS-based analysis is preferred.
· Prior work with in vivo models is preferred.
· Experience in FACS analysis and IHC is a plus;
· Analysis, accuracy, confidential skills and a strong attitude to reach the company’s achievements.
